Acne IS caused by dirt / oil on the skin

Britan Loch Ness MonsterAcne “myths” you read online, usually aren’t myths at all. They are fact. These articles were written by some nerd in thick glasses(for the sake of the article, we’ll call him Bert) who happened to be blessed with dry or normal skin. They probably wash their face once a day(if that), and still come out with beautiful clear skin. The fact is, acne has a lot to do with your genes. Just like people claim there are “fat genes”, there are “acne genes” as well. This doesn’t mean we can’t treat the acne, it just means we have to work harder at it.

Myth #2

Acne does not result from dirty or surface skin oils. Some parents would have their teens believe that kids without acne are somehow cleaner. Blackheads are the remains of dead skin surfaces, not dirt. Aggressive skin washing will in all likelihood aggravate pre-existing acne. The best approach to cleanliness is to gently wash your face twice daily with a mild soap and then pat dry before applying any of the anti-acne medications.

Antipimple Fact #2

Acne can result from dirt or oil on the skill.  Dead skin surfaces can trigger a black head.  This is true.  But so can oil, dirt, mud,  dried up left over mayonnaise you forgot to wipe off your face after eating at subway, hairspray,  you name it.  If its on your face, it has a possibility at clogging up your pores, period.

If you have anything on your face and you have oily/acne prone skin.  Do yourself a favor and get it off as soon as possible.  Use whatever you can.  Face wash, hand wash, heck I’ve even used raw sand on the beach clean my face!  Anything is better than nothing!  And believe it or not, sand really doesn’t work that bad as long as you thoroughly rinse afterwards.  A clean face throughout the day significantly decreases your chances of acne.  Do this, and you will be one step closer to clear skin.
